Roy feels fatherly

Radio Times: Roy feels fatherly

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • In the light of impeding cricketing disaster, Phil and Bert have managed to get some of the players back into the fold – even Phil plans on playing to ensure that they can field a full team! David’s grateful but not convinced of the wisdom.
  • Jennifer, the new chair of the millenium wood committee was on the receiving end of Lynda’s ire, being excused of getting the job because Brian’s donating the land. While Jennifer scoffs, Janet doesn’t relay the truth behind the sentiment ….
  • Earlier Jennifer had been into the shop with her grand-daughter and, while she and Betty commiserate with each other of the state of the (non) union between their children, Roy arrives. He’s quietly insistent that he hold Baby for the first time and is absolutely smitten. Jennifer’s protests aren’t too strong and as Roy holds what he is sure is his daughter, one grandmother (proven) and one grandmother (legal decision pending), look on in floods of emotional tears.
  • Later, Hayley visits Roy and relays Kate’s anger of yesterday and he’s adamant that he’s not doing it for himself – he’s really been affected by holding Baby and is more sure than ever that she’s his daughter – and if the blood test results, due on Tuesday, match his doubtless conviction of his paternity, then if Kate wants to fight, he will.
