Roy gives Freddie a piece of his mind. Harrison gives Jazzer a hand. Vicky gives Mike something to think about.

Radio Times: Mike is in a quandary, and Freddie and Ben get caught.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • A weary Mike tells Vicky he must go up to the burial ground because Carol Tregorran has reported a fallen sapling. Vicky seizes the opportunity to be unpleasant about Carol, and to tell Mike he really should think about retiring. She is somewhat taken aback when Mike tells her he has already discussed the idea with Hayley, and plays the emotional blackmail card by announcing that Beth often asks where Mike is.
  • PC Burns stops Jazzer, who is attempting to move a large piece of old furniture for a milk customer. Ignoring Harrison’s officious remarks, Jazzer manages to enlist his help with not only the furniture but his love-life. A noticeably unwilling Harrison Burns agrees to meet Jazzer for a drink on Friday; after all, they both have big choices to make, and Harrison owes Jazzer a listen.
  • Vicky thinks she should return to work fulltime, leaving Mike to look after Bethany. It will be easier to sort out Beth’s schooling that way. It is never too early to start planning.
  • Roy discovers Freddie and Ben having a crafty smoke and reads the riot act. He won’t tell their parents because, in Freddie’s case, Elizabeth has enough on her plate already. But it mustn’t happen again.
