Ruth discovers about Sophie and David’s lunchtime tryst.
Radio Times: Eddie experiences some divine justice.
Characters: Alan, Clarrie, David, Joe, Ruth, Sam, Usha- Ruth and David are making a bit of an effort – they realise things were getting out of hand. David is even going to baby-sit so she and Pip can go to the Harvest Supper. And Sam can drive them. Both Ruth and Pip scrub up well!
- David disagrees with Sam about his plan to move the herd. Sam isn’t impressed. Ruth offers to have a word but Sam says no. But Ruth is grateful anyway for his help over the week. Ruth tells Usha she’s still not happy but at least David is making an effort. Maybe she will take home something for a peace offering.
- Usha has got Aunty Satya to make sweets for her contribution to the talents competition. They should sell well at the Harvest Supper as should Clarrie’s cakes though Pip is nervous about her face painting. Joe has made back the money he’s made on the hay for Bartleby already. And Clarrie has got her own back on Eddie – she’s brought 6 whistling gnomes Eddie couldn’t sell for Alan to auction. Eddie isn’t impressed. But Sam buys it for Ruth and calls it Sophie. Whether it was wise to tell Joe that…. Especially when he tells her that he’d seen Sophie and David out together for lunch – just the two of them.
- Ed has had his last counselling session although he can still call if he wants to. They hope it’s the start of better things.
