Stealing moments to plan their future together is difficult for Sam and Ruth.
Radio Times: There’s some devious behaviour at Brookfield Farm.
Characters: David, Lynda, Pip, Ruth, Sam, Susan- Sam’s desperate phone call, to tell Ruth he is longing to see her, is all too short: Ruth barely has time to declare that she too wants to meet, before being interrupted by a very bored Pip. Izzy is away with her mum and Pip is extra stroppy.
- Lynda catches Susan at Church but has no success in recruiting her for the Christmas production. Susan is focussed on a family Christmas and nothing will be allowed to interfere with that.
- Ruth has made a big effort with Sunday lunch but it is not quite ready when Lynda calls. She wants to check that David is still willing to be a dwarf – he is – and she tries to recruit Pip, who has some definite ideas about Snow White and is encouraged by Lynda to express them.
- Talking to Pip, Ruth realises that it’s the situation between herself and David that is really upsetting her; Pip had begged them to sort it out days ago and thinks they should try harder. But not now – a text from Sam sends Ruth rushing out to “check on a cow”. David offers to help but “Oh, no”!
- Another stolen kiss in the cow shed for Sam and Ruth – but only one because Pip is about. Ruth is concerned about the effect on the children if she and David split: Pip is affected already. Sam is sure they will find a way; he loves the children. He has been thinking about it all weekend but Ruth cannot talk now. Sam can’t wait; he just wants to be with Ruth all the time.
