  • Still smarting from the news about Alice’s wish to drag her son off to Canada, Susan is none too friendly towards Jennifer when she comes into the shop. However, Jennifer soon puts her in her place, telling Susan not to take it out on her – she is no more enthusiastic about the plan than is Susan herself. Susan had no idea. Jennifer wouldn’t dream of trying to stop Alice but she hates the idea; there is nothing either of them can do.
  • Ed and Jazzer are viewing the tractor that Jazzer is hoping to pick up for a song from his widowed customer. It is indeed a Ferguson TE20 which could be worth quite a bit. Though the late owner has clearly kept it in working order, it still needs quite a lot of restoration work; he doesn’t seem to have done much. Jazzer’s take on the situation is that it was his escape, so he had no incentive to finish it. That boy has hidden shallows! Ed feels that buying it for a couple of hundred doesn’t feel right – cheating the owner; he wants to sleep on it.
  • It’s Neil and Susan’s anniversary, so Emma has got a meal ready, set the table for two and then has arranged to take the children to Clarrie’s for tea. Susan should put her worries to one side and enjoy a celebratory meal with Neil.
