Radio Times: The Aldridges make their mark.

  • Pat and Tony are doing some planning for the weekend’s farm walk when Lynda arrives to talk about last night’s presentation at the WI on genetically modified crops. While Pat sympathises with the general GM issue, she can’t help being a little amused as an indignant Lynda reveals how she’d discovered that Brian had mercilessly tricked her of the pollen-free rape!
  • Bits of fruit pies, presumably secreted by a bloated Janet at the harver supper, keep cropping up in the church. The latest slice, in the font, has caused an ant outbreak.
  • There’s a meeting to discuss the Ambridge/Aldridge Millennium Wood – with the name being a continuing source of conflict between Lynda and Jennifer. The plan is for a symbolic tree to be planted, possibly by some children led by Alice, during National Tree Planting Week (at the end of November, apparently), with a mass planting later in the winter, possibly on Boxing Day. There’s lots of discussion about the contents of the wood and Lynda’s having trouble recognising Jennifer as the chair of the meeting …
