The anxiety mounts for Roy and Hayley. Brian fails to see Jennifer’s point of view.

Radio Times: Brian lands in alien territory.

Characters: Brian, David, Hayley, Jennifer, Phoebe, Roy, Ruth

• As Roy and Hayley hold Abbie, it’s clear that Roy is not coping well with the situation. He doesn’t want Phoebe to see her in case she gets too attached to her baby sister. Hayley reminds him that they must be positive, and asks him to bring Phoebe in later that day.
• The atmosphere between Brian and Jennifer is decidedly brittle. When Brian tries once again to state his point of view, Jennifer refuses to listen.
• Caroline is surprised to see Roy at Grey Gables, and urges him to go back to Hayley. Eventually Roy admits that he needs to take his mind off the situation, and work is the best way of doing that.
• Brian goes for a walk to avoid the atmosphere at Home Farm, and meets David. He pours out his side of the story, and wants David to take his side. David reminds him of how much Jennifer has sacrificed already. Brian can’t see another point of view, though, and says that if it’s a choice between Ruairidh’s future and avoiding a divorce, Ruairidh will come first.
• David tells Ruth about his encounter with Brian. Ruth can’t see that Adam and Debbie would be any better off if there was a divorce, and wonders what would happen to the digester scheme.
• Roy brings Phoebe to see Abbie, and she’s entranced by her little sister. She is longing to help look after her. But Phoebe spots something which Roy and Hayley have failed to notice – the first signs of Jaundice.
