The Bull’s new chef doesn’t last long.

Radio Times: Jolene is turning up the heat in the kitchen and the Fairbrothers need to mobilise.

  • His brother is not impressed: Toby has still not signed the tenancy agreement. Toby retaliates with the advice that Rex needs to sort out Pip and stop mooning about like a wounded puppy. Rex admits he likes her – more than likes – but he doesn’t want her on the rebound from Matthew, and he doesn’t appreciate his brother’s mercenary comment that Pip comes with a farm attached.
  • Brrrm! That’s an angry Kate driving out of Home Farm: she had asked her mother for money and got the same response as from her grandmother yesterday. Lilian has invited Jennifer and Brian for dinner to thank them for letting her stay on. Don’t get too excited, Brian, it’s pancakes at The Bull.
  • Ruth is interested in Rex’s egg research. Promising so far and Josh has been a huge help. Not, Ruth hopes, at the expense of his school work. The Archers are all going to Flippin’ Pancakes at The Bull. All? Pip too?
  • At The Bull all is not well. They are very busy and customers are waiting long for their pancakes. In the kitchen, the new chef Zoe is not delighted at turning out pancakes all night. Brian is intrigued that Lilian is going to the races with Justin again. Rex is disappointed to learn that Pip couldn’t make it but at least they get the advice that Bert is the man to talk to about building an egg-mobile.
  • Oh dear! Zoe has gone: she and Jolene had a big row and she walked out. That’s the last straw for Jolene as Valentine’s Day approaches; better the devil you know: she will ring Wayne and if Kenton doesn’t like it (he doesn’t much) he can take charge of the kitchen himself.
