The Fairbrothers have a problem: their egg-mobile has gone up in smoke.

Radio Times: Johnny is out to impress, and Toby has a brainwave.

Characters: , , , ,
  • Keen to improve his farming knowledge, Johnny is visiting Brookfield and asking lots of questions. David recommends that he also talks to Bert, who today is in his element – on a tractor. Johnny is keen to see the new herd too. Ruth is beginning to believe that their bold move will work.
  • Ruth finds Rex in the shop stocking up on Easter eggs. The hens are due to arrive tomorrow, so they must get the egg-mobile ready. At last they will have a year-round farming venture. Ruth gets a text from Pip; to say she is having a nice time would be an understatement.
  • As Rex and Toby head back to Hollowtree, they are surprised to see smoke. Oh no! Oh yes, the egg-mobile is on fire. It’s a write off. They have 100 hens arriving tomorrow, so what are they going to do? Bert, who is gutted by the news, says it will take weeks to rebuild. Toby insists that they do not put back their launch; they will use the caravan: they will ask Bert to help them knock up some perches and nesting boxes. And where will the brothers live? In a tent; brrr, sooner them than me.
