While Brian had to swallow the colossal cost, with improved soil structure, increased yields and larger profits, what’s not to like? Jennifer’s not so keen to be given a demonstration, but Adam finds an enthusiastic admirer in Josh, who completely appreciates that high-tech is the future of farming. He asks Adam for some harvest work to supplement his income, whilst musing whether he even needs to put in time at university, as hands-on experience may benefit him more in the long-term. Adam wonders if Josh may be preparing the ground for poor A-level results.
- Jennifer and Kate are shopping in Borchester to equip the yurts, whose first inhabitants arrive next week. An exasperated Jennifer leaves Kate to it and returns home only to receive a text from Alice asking her to return to Borchester. She has been offered a second interview tomorrow and wants Jennifer to help her choose a suitable outfit.
- Josh hasn’t the time to carry Toby in the way Rex does, especially now he is busier at Willow Farm and with the tasks Neil used to do. He’s cross that Toby is not there for his early shift. Upper Class Eggs must turn a decent profit for the business to be efficient and Josh does not want to let his parents down either, who have financially backed him in his venture. Rex explains that Toby was not home until the early hours due to his new romance, but it cuts no ice with Josh. If Rex will not lay the law down for Toby, then Josh will – and he does – when Toby eventually shows his face. Toby is unperturbed by Josh’s stern words which are as water off a duck’s back to Toby.
