• Roy invites Tom over for Mike and Vicky’s homecoming. He asks after Brenda. Tom says getting there but needs time. On the way there, Tom’s moaning about Jazzer being hung over after a late night with Fallon and how Annette expects him to be a go-between even though Jazzer’s treating her like a doormat. Brenda’s not interested, too concerned about Vicky.
• Lilian tells Jenny that Matt prefers the cut and thrust of business and their relationship is a poor second. Jenny suggests leaving him to get on with it; he may come to his senses and return to her. No, Lilian’s sure it’s gone too far for that, it’s over.
• Phoebe’s dying to see Grandad and Grandma Vicky and thinks Brenda must be too. They pull up outside and Mike carries light as a feather Vicky over the threshold. Surprise! There’s real champagne and Mike’s pleased to see Phoebe and be with his “two favourite girls in the world”; he doesn’t hear the “Thanks!” from Brenda. Vicky makes a speech. Her and Mike are going to be very happy together.
