Things go from bad to worse for Bridge Farm.

Radio Times: Tom gets a useful tip and Roy ponders the future.

Characters: Mike, Pat, Pip, Roy, Tom

• Out collecting jumble for a Young Farmers sale, Pip commiserates with Pat. She comments on the wetlands article on the web, but Pat is non-committal about it. She is feeling very low indeed.
• Tom arrives with a trailer load of lettuces for composting, which really makes Pat’s day. Pat already knows that sales in the village shop are slow, but now she hears that the volunteers won’t even take the items reaching their sell-by-date for nothing. Mike is reporting cancelled orders for yoghurt and cream on the milk round, too.
• The ever-irritating IT wizard and general know-all Pip tells Tom that his efforts to move the bad news right down the web page will not work unless he regularly deletes the browsing history. He quickly phones Brenda to tell her. But of course Pip has already linked the wetlands article to Twitter and Facebook, so all will be well.
• Roy and Mike enjoy a beer before dinner, while Vicky is out seeing a friend. Roy is upset at Phoebe’s imminent departure, and all Mike’s efforts to cheer him up do little to help. They reminisce about Phoebe’s happy times with Betty, and gently Mike reminds Roy that Phoebe will always be his daughter and will always love him.
