  • Helen has bought Pat the thrilling present of goat clippers for her birthday. They are even better than the necklace Tom bought. And she is thinking of getting more goats which they’ll need if they are going to make goat’s cheese. But she needs to talk to Tom first. She’s taken all of his kefir off the shelves. They’ve heard about Pip’s pregnancy too and are thrilled.
  • Pip is so pleased to be able to talk to Helen but she’s already done it. Helen says she’s here to help. Now she’s told the family she has to focus on what she is actually going to do. Can she keep working? Helen says she managed it. Then Pip worries that she will think she doesn’t want to be a Mum but Helen tells her it will be the best thing she’s done.
  • Susan is still expecting the kefir to be a success. After looking at the results of her “market research” she has found a super kefir. She expects it to be all steam ahead now Tom is back.
  • Pip tells Ruth how pleased she was about talking things through with Helen. It’s made her feel so more positive. They’ll need someone to cover for her on maternity leave. David is half listening to the conversation and she challenges him, saying that he isn’t happy. He doesn’t know what she wants him to say. So Pip turns it round. Part of her is happy, but part is scared. She thought she would always do this the traditional way. And she knows David hates Toby and she knows she’s spoiled thing – the wedding etc. But he tells her as long as she is happy, so is he.
  • Helen has spoken to Tom. He told her she was as bad as the supermarkets. But the fact is it just isn’t selling. Tom wants them all to meet up in the cafe to discuss it. When they get there Tom has obviously told Susan and Clarrie that the kefir is over. Susan thought it was the start of a whole new career. It’s not just a disappointment, it’s a disaster.
  • David tells Ruth he was quite choked up after his conversation with Pip. Ruth reminds him that Toby will be back soon. David wants to ignore him but Ruth thinks they have to tell him that they understand how things are. Ruth says it has to come from him, not her. David is the one Toby is scared of. David reluctantly agrees he will talk to him.
