Brian conjures up enough votes to go with the new agronomist

Radio Times: Adam is outmanoeuvred and Kate is at her wit’s end.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Kate is still furious with Noluthando. She sent her a card which clearly was very critical of her and Nolly dumped the card saying she was guilty of moral blackmail and she wasn’t playing. Jennifer should tell Nolly that she is being manipulative when all Kate is trying to do is to reach out to her. She thinks Jennifer and Brian should sort it and when they won’t she storms out. But Brian is more interested in where he should hang his photo. He is even less impressed when he finds out that Brian is siding with Adam over the agronomist. So she has invited him round to supper to see if they can sort it out. It’s that or a vote.
  • Alice is still feeling guilty over spiking Pip’s drink. And she’s on the mineral water. Jill has been trying to tell Kenton how happy she is over Pip. He isn’t convinced and he’ll be interested to see how David feels.
  • Adam arrives for supper. Jennifer says Brian isn’t happy about her view but they have all evening to persuade him.
  • Brian decides to talk to Kate. He apologises for being insensitive earlier. Kate is astonished. He has never told her she was a good mother before. Brian says Nolly is a teenager but she shouldn’t have taken it out on her the way he has. It’s probably down to Lucas. And Kate is having to pick up the pieces….. He persuades her to come down to supper and then….. there is just one more thing he needs to talk about.
  • Back in the kitchen, Brian announces that Kate has agreed to side with him on the agronomist. So Brian thinks he has won. Jennifer reminds him that Ruth holds Ruairi’s vote and she thinks it is in Ruairi’s interest not to go with Hardys who are only interested in short term profit. But Alice then appears and casts her vote with Brian. Now who is being a bad loser.
  • David turns up in The Bull. Kenton congratulates him. David doesn’t seem too chuffed but he says he is happy for her. Kenton tries to convince him that Toby isn’t a complete waste of space. He knows he is flaky at times but he is better than he thinks but David says it takes one to know one and storms out to the Ploughman’s.
