  • Lexi is trying to sort out a party problem at Grey Gables before going to a swim with Roy. While waiting for Roy she bumps into Ian. She tells him she’s been thinking about the surrogacy and has a few questions to ask them both.
  • David is obviously in a strop and Ruth tells him he shouldn’t take it out on the cattle. He’s fed up with Kenton and plans to avoid him and now he wants to avoid Toby who is back but Ruth tells him there no point in putting him off. All he has to do is be polite and civil. It isn’t about Toby, it is about Pip and their grandchild. They are doing it for them.
  • Talking to Adam and Ian, Lexi asks about what would happen if she couldn’t work, would they make up her wages. They agree that they would, of course, and are prepared to be generous. She is pleased but says she also would need to insist on a donor egg. They say they are already on the list for a donor. The final condition is that if were to get pregnant, she would want to spend more time at home with her girls. It is hard to be without them and if they were able to cover some of her expenses then that would work but if they can’t, she’d have to say no. Ian and Adam aren’t sure but they don’t want it to be a deal breaker. Adam is more comfortable with it than Ian. She won’t say yes now but it’s a definite maybe. After they’d agreed that, Roy texts and thinks she is still at Grey Gables.
  • David and Toby have a rather awkward encounter exchanging small talk about Christmas. They do have a talk about doing the best they can for Pip. Toby says he wants that too. He respects her and he would do what he can to help in an emergency. It’s not want he planned and all he wants is a quiet life. That sets David off. He never did plan anything, did he? This is Pip’s baby and she doesn’t need anything from him. The tenancy is up at the end of March and it seems it would be better if he went sooner rather than later and storms off.
  • Roy is still angry Lexi is considering the surrogacy. It’s only because she is such a kind person. He understands the point about her staying with the girls. Roy understands that but he is worried about what it would do to them if she were carrying another man’s child. He loves her too much, he is scared about losing her.
