  • As Tom rings Kirsty to check that they will be lunching together, and to persuade her that a wedding planner would be a good thing, he discovers that Tony’s cows have broken out into his pig field. A nasty burst of temper ensues.
  • At a loose end because the weather precludes any outdoor work on the farm, Brian comes to find Adam, and moans about having had to spend an afternoon at a kitchen designer. Not satisfied with that expedition, Jenny now has masses of brochures and is insisting that Brian look through them with her. Brian is in search of any job that will keep him out of the house.
  • Tony is full of apologies about the cows as he and Tom mend the fence, but Tom is in full-on temper mode. Frustrated, Tony points out that he has had a lifetime’s experience of cows. In that case, says Tom triumphantly, why has Tony failed to notice the one which is taking no notice of them? Tom is convinced that Tony is planning to drive the pigs out of Bridge Farm.
  • Tom pours out his anger to Kirsty, who suggests he might be overreacting. Meanwhile Helen wants him to invite Rob to his stag do. Kirsty thinks something is not right with Helen; she has been on the point of saying something several times, but chickened out. Tom revisits the wedding planner idea. It must be someone young who will do it for the fun of it. Of course … Alice.
  • Tom rings Alice who would love to plan the wedding, and who already has a million ideas. But this will be women’s talk, so she must speak to Kirsty straight away.
  • As she has a day off, Alice has been summoned to Home Farm to talk kitchens. Brian suggests that they all go to lunch at The Bull to escape Jenny and her brochures. Alice tells her father he is a wuss, and Adam tells him that all he has to do is ask how much and sign the cheque. Brian still intends to lunch somewhere far away, but says he will agree to anything within reason as long as he does not have to listen to any more kitchen talk.
