Tom hears Jazzer making jokes about Helen; he punches him before sacking him. Kirsty tells him he must put personal feelings aside.

Radio Times: Jazzer needs some help, and Kirsty tells it like it is.

  • Jazzer is more interested in talking about Helen than moving pig arcs. There are much less messy ways of killing people. Unfortunately Tom overhears him talking and punches him. He then throws him off the farm – out of his job and out of the house. He doesn’t want to see him at Bridge Farm ever again.
  • Pip is considering running some of the Herefords on Adam’s herbal leys. If that works, at the end of the season, if the Herefords have done better at Home Farm than at Brookfield, she could have a share of the profits. David agrees and tactfully suggests that she should talk to Tony about some of his cows. Pip thinks it might not be a great time. But maybe she should ask Tom….
  • Jazzer bumps into Kirsty as he is moving out. Jazzer genuinely doesn’t seem to realise he has done anything wrong. Kirsty tells him even he should realise there are some things he shouldn’t joke about.
  • Tom is taking his anger out on chopping logs when Pip goes round. He tells her he had to fire Jazzer. He said something about Helen. He knows it isn’t just Jazzer. Everyone is talking about her as some sort of deranged harpy. How is she ever going to get a fair trial? How will they ever find a jury? She would never harm anyone. But how is anyone ever going to find that out the truth of what happened. Pip realises it’s not the time for a business chat and offers to do anything she can to help.
  • Neil tries to get Jazzer to apologise. He won’t. He thinks it should be Tom apologising. David joins them in The Bull. What is going to happen now? Neil can’t cope with the pigs on his own.
  • Kirsty goes to visit Tom. She’s heard about Jazzer. Tom knows it was really stupid. Kirsty points out it’s not going to help Helen’s case. Violence runs in the family. Kirsty tries to make him realise that sacking him was stupid. He could go to a tribunal, or even report him for assault. Kirsty tries to make him realise he has got to put personal feelings aside. He has to let it go. All of their energies must be focussed on getting Helen out of this mess and home as soon as possible. Nothing else matters. Tom agrees.
