Two relationships seem to be getting off to a rocky start.
Radio Times: Fallon breaks the law, and Charlie puts the pressure on.
Characters: Adam, Charlie, Fallon, Jolene, Kenton, PC Burns- At The Bull, Kenton is in furtive mood, showing Fallon his egg for her mother. They are discovered by Jolene and Kenton is just able to hide his gift. His purchase of hot cross buns from the wholesaler is met with stony silence. They look pale and unappealing. Fallon saves the day by offering to bake more to her father’s old recipe.
- Charlie calls in to Home Farm for Adam’s Field Diary but he hasn’t discovered it yet. He chides Adam for not being further ahead with maize cultivation. Adam counters with the fact that it has been too cold. Charlie leaves, suggesting that Adam could be getting some field work done at least….”let’s get on with it, and don’t forget the diary!” are his parting words.
- Fallon retrieves an old plant pot stand from a skip and is apprehended by PC Burns. There may be an issue of possible theft. He also notices that her rear light is damaged. Perhaps they could discuss the matter more fully over a drink. He would like to get to know the woman rather than just the criminal.
- Kenton and Jolene are putting the finishing touches to Friday’s event at The Bull now that they have sourced decent hot cross buns. Adam calls in for a quick half of Shires, bemoaning his new manager when horror of horrors, in he walks. Adam makes a sharp exit into the Ploughman’s. Meanwhile, Fallon and PC Burns finish their drink. Fallon leaves to deliver her buns, dropping a broad hint that she has no room for her plant stand.
- Charlie discovers Adam and straight away, offers advice on planting the maize. The weather is reasonable, why doesn’t Adam put someone on it tonight? Charlie believes that they need to sort out working together as a team! Adam refuses the offer of another drink, saying that he has an early start. Anyone for a slice of atmosphere?
- Fallon delivers the buns and PC Burns delivers the plant stand to The Bull. He offers to call her during the week, but Fallon claims that she may be busy. She thanks the officer for his help… and dismisses him.
