• Auntie Satya’s visit to Usha does little to raise Usha’s spirits. Satya tells Usha that she has broken her mother’s heart, and that they only allowed her to pursue a career so that she could then settle down in and have children within a Hindu marriage. Usha, she says, has cut herself off from the entire family.
• Chatting to Clarrie in the shop, Susan inadvertently lets out the news of Will’s split from Nic, thinking that Clarrie already knows. Clarrie is devastated, mainly because Will has not come straight to her. She’s all set to go rushing round to Casa Nueva, but Susan points out that Will doesn’t want to talk about it, and Clarrie would be better waiting until he brings George round for Sunday tea.
• Kenton and Kathy have a drink at the Bull, in an effort to raise Kathy’s spirits. When Nigel and Elizabeth appear, Kathy rushes off to speak to Nigel about the team chase, in an effort to avoid discussing the trial. Kenton seizes the moment to tell Elizabeth the latest developments, and that he blames himself for everything; if he’d been there, none of this would have happened.
