  • Roy and Hayley decide to try to convince John that people didn’t miss his party because they had good reason by hiring a coach, going to Birmingham and going clubbing! She needs to grab his address book though …..
  • Mike’s furious at the state of the milk quota world and Roy is getting sick of it (although Hayley is curious)
  • Brian updates John with the results of the Oxford conference, particularly the US stance on farm subsidies and the investment opportunities in Eastern Europe.
  • Clarrie’s on guard while Hayley is nabbing John’s address book. He arrives back and get suspicious at her delaying tactics, but doesn’t find out.
  • Complex complaints abound in The Bull as Mike continues to ride his hobby horse, although Brian is defending the system. They’re also curious as to what the, apparently permanently miserable, Simon spends his fortune on.
  • Joe arrives home distinctly merry, Clarrieluv is raging because Caroline had rung – J-P had stormed off after William’s had tried to sell him pigeons!
