• Phil’s had a difficult night and, despite protestations, Jill calls Richard whose cracked rib dianogsis is proven correct after a visit to Borchester General. Despite Phil’s belligerence Jill and Shula are ganging up on him to take this as a warning to go easy in future.
• After protests from some parishoners, Janet has cancelled the play scheme’s Halloween celebrations.
• After all the preperations, the harvest supper is a bit of a let-down, after sumptuious courses in Penny Hassett and Edgeley, Jennifer’s roulade is a little rich for those that stayed the course
