  • Kenton’s got his ticket – he flies on Thursday – and is heading back to Oz with lots of good intentions – and leaving debts in Ambridge which is worrying Shula.
  • Phil agress with David’s idea to sell their big red tractor. While it’s David’s pride and joy, it’s too much for their needs, and it will reduce their borrowing requirements.
  • Brookfield, the estate and Bridge Farm have all received statutory notice from the water board about the impending sewage pipe. While Pat’s up in arms, Jill cannot get quite so worked up and, normal service being resumed, as she backs Phil’s noncommital stance on the issue, planning to fob Pat off with an excuse of being busy rather than helping fight the corner.
  • Alistair and Shula are still getting on famously, which is more than Caroline is with Graham. He’s received several rejections and is not taking the hint. Shula advised her friend to accept his latest invitation – to Wednesday’s Hunt ball – because she’s sure she could handle him and at least there will be a crowd of people.
