  • Brian is at the estate office ready to meet Simon, who’s in a good mood even to the extent of praising Susan’s work with the forthcoming (and popular) business unit open day. Before they leave Simon orders a written complaint given to Pat and Tony over some small blocked entrace at Bridge Farm.
  • Clarrie’s confident the rest of her money will arrive soon and she’s still working hard. The Grundys are worried about their lack of witnesses, especially as Brian eventually refuses, suggested that a dairy farmer would be more appropriate, a lame excuse but it does the job.
  • It emerges that Pat and Tony broke their knowledge to John and Hayley, Susan is slightly surprised and displays a distinct young fogey attitude.
  • Brian isn’t too impressed with the estate’s LIFE field, but David and Simon explain that while it’s yield might be lower it’s profit margin is higher as well as the fact that environmental friendliness means good PR these days.
  • Later, Simon seems pleased with David’s work on the Grange Farm integration plans – and tells him that he wants him to give the figures as evidence to the tribunal. David is shocked at this possibility, but Simon promises that he will properly briefed.
