Tom – not Helen – shows Rob round the nature reserve.
Radio Times: Anthea keeps Lilian up to the mark and Tom takes advice on board.
Characters: Anthea, Jolene, Kenton, Lilian, Rob, Tom- Back from a power-nap, Lilian finds that Anthea has been busy: she has found a plumber and he is already on the job. Also she has taken a call from Bernard about the asbestos: it’s white asbestos, so that’s good but why can’t they get on with the work straight away. The specialist firm have to do a full survey which they will start in the morning and probably finish in the day. In answer to Lilian’s inevitable objection, today was not an option.
- Kenton and Jolene are ring-hunting. Jolene wants a simple wedding – not in church – and a massive party afterwards. They find the perfect ring in the first shop and Kenton is amazed that she doesn’t want to do the usual female thing of visiting five other shops before coming back to the first to buy it.
- Tom is showing Rob around the Arkwright Nature Reserve, a little surprised that Helen didn’t want to show it to him herself; it was her suggestion, after all. Sales of Tom’s ready meals have not gone as well as in the first week but Rob encourages him to press ahead and ramp up production, a lesson learnt from his Canadian friend. It’s a frozen product with a good shelf life; what’s to lose? Rob confesses to be full of admiration for Helen; despite early opposition from parents she stuck to her guns over having a baby and it has all worked out well. That’s why Rob finds Helen so impressive.
