The elves are on the move. Helen is very down; her mood shows no sign of lifting.

Radio Times: Eddie makes his move, and Helen cannot be cheered.

• The PCC meeting is about to get underway. Brian and Neil discuss last night’s events at Home Farm. Eddie turns up, much to everyone’s surprise. He expresses an interest in Brian’s paper about the elves and Millennium Wood. He must be up to something.
• Brian highlights the ecological damage caused by tourists to visit the elves in the wood. Neil points out that the argument has two sides. The local economy has experienced a marked upturn due to the visitors. Eddie chimes in. He agrees and says that he may have a solution. Why not move the elves to a less sensitive area? Suddenly Neil sees the light. He supposes, correctly, that Eddie has an ideal alternative site in mind. Whoever would have thought it?
• At the mother and baby unit, Kaz feels that Helen and Jack have been very quiet since the hearing. Helen makes it very clear that she doesn’t want to speak. Jack starts to cry and Kaz has to encourage his mother to pick him up. He needs feeding. With calm restored, Kaz looks on the bright side; Helen still has Jack. She flares, saying that Kaz can’t know. She wasn’t there. Kaz encourages her to speak and Helen does. She’s fearful that her appearance was a catastrophe; she couldn’t speak properly or answer the court’s questions clearly. Rob’s presence was a shock. He had them believing she was a bad mother … and she is. Now he has Henry until the trial. Heaven knows what he’ll tell him. She dissolves into floods of tears.
• Brian congratulates Eddie on his business acumen. His Elfworld proposal is just what Ambridge needs. Brian turns down the offer of a celebratory drink, he has to get home. As an aside, Eddie hopes that Elfworld will be a good earner. Elsewhere, Jack has settled and Helen’s helping Kaz to wash up. She catches sight of Kaz’s arm and sees that she’s self-harmed. Kaz says that Helen’s lucky to have avoided it. Helen disagrees. There are other ways to hurt yourself.
• At The Bull, Eddie shares his plan for Elfworld with Neil. He’s been delivering handbills around the village announcing Sunday’s “Elf Migration”. Edward, dressed as a warlock, followed by the Grundy children will move the elves in a grand parade along the Am footpath to Grundy’s Field. The Echo and Radio Borsetshire have been notified and Jennifer has put the event on the village website. In future, entry to Elfworld will be free but donations will be gratefully accepted, as will be the parking fee of £5 and the profits from the sale of souvenirs. Eddie reckons that Sunday will be wonderful and that the Grundys will make the most of it.
