Helen and Kaz renew their contact and Rob is left in no doubt that he is unwelcome on the cricket side.
Radio Times: Kaz has a visitor, and Rob wants to talk strategy.
Characters: Adam, Harrison, Helen, Johnny, Kaz, Rob, Roy- Over pre-match tactics discussions, proud Roy shares that Phoebe has started her university term at Oxford. Rob makes an appearance, changed and ready to play and assume his position as strategist. Harrison makes it clear that Rob is no longer on the team. He is unwelcome and is asked to leave, accompanied by a slow hand clap from the team.
- Adam feels it may be better if he moves away to give Ian some space. He has attempted to meet with Ian to put things right but Ian always seems busy or just on his way out somewhere. Roy challenges Adam: is Ian not worth fighting for?
- Helen visits Kaz for the first time since the trial. Strange though it is to walk back through the gates, Helen’s determination to maintain contact touches Kaz. Helen has also been to visit Kaz’s mother and children and has photographs to show Kaz next time. They discuss their respective offspring and how much they have grown. Helen is reluctant to acknowledge to Kaz that Rob has been granted supervised access to the children. She is dragging her heels with commencing divorce proceedings but unable to explain why. Kaz offers a hypothesis: Helen’s dedicated loyalty – even to Rob – and Kaz urges Helen to evict him from her life without further ado.
- The cricket match isn’t going to plan and while Johnny favours a more aggressive approach to pull the team back, the others will not see this happen as it would be stooping to Rob Titchener’s tactics.
- Rob is still skulking around at the interval and offers Harrison unsolicited advice. Harrison cuts him dead, repeating that Rob is no longer on the team, therefore will not be discussing strategy with anyone outside his team. The team go on to win the match and Harrison’s superb captaincy is celebrated.
