Characters: Clarrie, David, Debbie, Eddie, Ruth, Shula, Simon

• Shula visits Debbie in the lambbing-shed, an awkward moment as she tries to pluck up the courage. Debbie likes his unpredictability but Shula’s revelations are interrupted by the lad himself. She excuses herself and he chases after her and tells her to mind her own business and, further, warns her that she should be prepared to shoulder some of the guilt connected to the Grundy’s impending eviction.
• The hygiene inspector is due anytime and Eddie’s nervous, David’s doubts about testifying are surfacing but Eddie assures him that his priorities should be toward Ruth and the kid(s) and is very understanding. The inspector eventually passes them and they can start selling on Tuesday.
• A van from the brochure company tries to take away the now shredded catalogues!
• Debbie is curious about Shula, Simon stalls her and is saved by the (mobile) bell.
• Shula is crotchety and when Ruth tells her that David’s decided not to give his evidence, she decides that if no-one else will do it she’ll be the Grundys’ farming witness! Eddie is shocked when he finds out!
