  • It’s bath time for Bethany; she loves it apparently. Vicky has a post-natal check-up later. Perhaps they should start planning a christening.
  • Paul and Lilian are enjoying lunch before visiting an antiques fair; they are in the Peak District, far enough from Ambridge not to have to look over their shoulders. Can they find anything for the love-nest? A clock perhaps, or a vase – nothing quite suits until Paul notices a landscape painting; they both love it. Their day over, they look forward to another meeting next week.
  • Over a drink in The Bull, David and Ruth discuss their errant daughter; she knows that Ruth worries about her but she is so stubborn. David thinks that perhaps Ruth fears a replay of the Jude experience but he thinks not. Ruth was right to tackle her: Pip must understand that being an adult brings responsibilities and the sooner she accepts that the better for all.
