A frosty day at Brookfield but there is sibling harmony at Home Farm.
Radio Times: Debbie shows blood is thicker than water.
Characters: Adam, Brian, David, Debbie, Neil, Ruth, Usha- As she helps prepare the sheep, Debbie has to endure remarks from Brian about her brother; she leaves him in no doubt that she fully approves of the wedding.
- The atmosphere at Brookfield is unpleasant: the little conversation is in a sharp tone. Ruth’s attempts to talk and work out a way to carry on are spurned by David. He clearly does not believe that she did not sleep with Sam; why should he ever believe her again?
- Having let slip that he doesn’t know what is expected of him regarding the Christmas show, Brian learns from Neil that it is a very responsible job – running the book. In a nutshell he will need to be there at every rehearsal and every performance. He will have words with Alice later!
- Ruth tries again but David has just heard from the milking agency and announces that he has declined to give any kind of reference for Sam. Neil calls looking to scrounge some plywood for the show but gets his head bitten off.
- Debbie and Adam have worked well together and she has enjoyed it. She has already cleared her diary for 14th December and she makes sure that Brian knows it.
- Ruth confides in Usha. How can David be made to understand? Usha is sure that he will forgive her in time but Ruth is afraid that the damage to their marriage has gone too deep and that they can’t go back.
