A shock for Marjorie.

Radio Times: A shock for Marjorie.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • Grange Farm are having problems with the turkeys pecking and Joe’s trying an old trick of his dad’s – hanging old cabbages up with string so that the turkeys peck them intead. It’s his second bright idea of the day – the first being that if, as was the case, Clarrie was able to sell some embroidery at last week’s art sale, why couldn’t she sell some more and, when he and Eddie take orders, why shouldn’t they take some deposits …. (Of course, Clarrie knows nothing of this plan.)
  • Mike asks Eddie for a pheasant or two and managed to only pay with his silence, pointing out that Brian wouldn’t be happy to hear about the grain feeder near the border with Home Farm land ….
  • Joe and Marjorie are quietly looking over the wreaths and both remembering happier times. Joe admits to having been very fond of Pru, once upon a time, and they both admit that they were lucky to have had someone to be with and a family to have cared for them.
  • Marjorie and Hayley have a small accident in their cars – it seems Marjorie hadn’t been concentrating fully, or rather, that her eyesight is failing. She’s very apologetic and between Hayley, Mike and Betty they get her home and Mike offers to fix a damaged wing imrror. She bemoans to Hayley about her failing faculties and, after she’s left alone she, bursts into tears.
