Alan thinks Peggy can’t manage Jack.
Radio Times: Ed goes into the Dragon’s Den.
Characters: Alan, Brian, Ed, Elizabeth, Jennifer, Lynda- Elizabeth and Lynda spend an enjoyable sleepless morning tidying the memorial ground. It leaves a few gaps and they’ll return next week to fill them with scented plants from Titcombe’s greenhouse supplies, grown from cuttings.
- Debbie reports that Kate is seeming restless. Brian’s worried she’ll leave Lucas but Jenny thinks she just needs a new challenge, like a full-time job. That will be a new challenge.
- Jack’s standing out the front of the house in his pyjamas when Alan passes by early in the morning. Peggy’s there but can’t get Jack back inside. Alan helps and then goes to tell Jennifer that Peggy can’t cope on her own. He suggests residential care but Jennifer says mum refuses to consider it.
- Ed finds Brian who’s surprised to hear Mike’s lovely wife wants to buy cows. He says Borchester Land aren’t a charity but when Ed says they’ll pay the going commercial rate for the 50 acres he needs Brian is more interested. He says to put it in writing and he’ll approach the board. Once Ed’s left he tells Jenny that a bit of positive PR from helping a local enterprise is just the kind of thing BL needs.
