Radio Times: Anisha is drawn in. Alistair frets about the past

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Oliver seems to be struggling to do anything. He isn’t eating properly and doesn’t know where to begin with the things that need to be done such as probate.
  • Lexi tells Adam that everything was fine over the weekend. Adam stresses that it is important that anything that happens is reported. The villagers are concerned about the graffiti so he thinks something needs to be done. He announces to all of the pickers that they are installing security cameras so they can be sure they are safe. The pickers aren’t impressed; maybe they feel they are being spied on. Lexi is insistent that there is no need for it. They can look after themselves. Adam doesn’t want them taking the law into their own hands. Lexi just thinks it is all too much.
  • Anisha is fussing about having to do some TB tests but Alistair says they need the business. Matt turns up and is made very unwelcome by Alistair. Anisha is surprised that he has now come up with 4 horses that need pre purchase exams. 2 are local but 2 are near Newmarket. Anisha says this week is impossible but he reminds her he promised to put in a good word with Latif. Reluctantly Anisha agrees – Alistair isn’t going to like it.
  • Alistair tells Anisha that Matt is seriously bad news. She says she knows about his conviction and he’s done his time. Alistair says it reflects badly on the practice to be dealing with him. Anisha tells him she will be meeting some very important people and they can’t afford to turn it down.
  • Oliver tries to speak to Ed but he is out on the tractor. He tells Adam everyone is being very kind. Oliver admits he isn’t sure what to do. Should he go back to Italy? His daughter wants him to join her in New York. Oliver changes the subject and talks about the harvest. He used to enjoy it. Maybe he should take it up again. He has to do something to fill his days.
  • Alistair is furious that Anisha is getting mixed up with Matt. She doesn’t seem to care what he is like. Shula says he must let her get on with it. She is doing exactly what she said she would do when she became a partner – bring in new business and good contacts. Alistair must have faith in her. Alistair continues to rant and Shula asks him if he’s going to tell her the real reason he can’t stand Matt. Of course he won’t. He’s going to stand by and blame Anisha if it all comes unstuck. Oliver walks in in the middle of the row. Poor man, how is that going to make him feel?
