Alistair misses another chance to repair his marriage.

Radio Times: There’s an escapee at The Stables.

Characters: , , , , ,
  • At The Stables, Alistair has an early call from Matt, seeking reassurance that Alistair will be at the game tonight; he manages to conceal this from Shula and whisks away the latest credit card bill too. Shula has a busy day ahead and one of her staff has gone sick.
  • At Brookfield there is harmony: David’s skills as cook and manager of children are being honed and Ruth is enjoying being back on the farm. Later, in the midst of egg rolling, David receives a call for help from Shula to round up a runaway horse
  • Tom is pleased with the map he has received showing that he has a good pitch at the forthcoming horse trails. It is a weekend job for which they are taking a tent – and Jazzer. He is also confident of winning Brian round about increasing the pig numbers; he has a new product, venison sausages, and a market at Grey Gables and some specialist butchers already organised. He reckons to have Brian cornered.
  • David and the children are having difficulty herding the horse back to The Stables, so it is fortunate that Alistair comes back to help. He wants to know why Shula did not ring him. No point: he would have been on an emergency or too busy. He is surprised by this and declares that it does not have to be like that. As luck would have it, Daniel has been invited for a sleepover with Josh – tonight. Alistair would love to have an evening on their own but not tonight; tomorrow or Thursday but not tonight.
