Alistair reaches rock-bottom. Emma and Will come to an agreement.

Radio Times: Emma gets her priorities straight.

  • Alistair is an hour late for an appointment at Brookfield, and when he does appear, it’s obvious that he’s not himself. He refuses an invitation to stay for a coffee, after dropping all his sterile items in the muck.
  • The Echo picture of Alan and Usha kissing has a mixed reception. Ruth thinks it’s great, and intends to cut it out. Susan Carter, predictably, thinks it’s undignified for a man in Alan’s position.
  • Kenton calls on Emma to see how George is. Emma tells him how she blames herself for letting things escalate between her and Will. She asks Kenton not to tell people what really happened.
  • Ed is not pleased when Emma tells him she’s going to talk to Will. But she goes anyway, and after an initial awkwardness, they agree that it’s not in George’s interests to prolong the battle. Will agrees to drop the legal action and to sort things out in a civilised way, so that George doesn’t have to grow up in a hostile atmosphere.
  • When Emma tells Ed the outcome of her talk to Will, he’s not happy. He’s even less happy when Emma tells him she’s not prepared for George to spend another night in the caravan. She’s taking him to her parents.
  • When Kenton gets home he’s shocked to see how ill Alistair looks. He tries to persuade him to talk, but Alistair will only say that his life is a total mess, and there’s no way out of it.
