Bert’s on a winning streak. Emma’s feeling down. Fallon can’t make Ed understand.

Characters: Bert, David, Ed, Emma, Fallon, Kirsty, Ruth- Bert is doing well in the ploughing match, but then David spots him opening the bonnet. There’s a fuel leak, which could be a disaster, but they fix it, and Bert goes on to win first prize.
- At Jaxx, Emma is in a muddle, and Kirsty can see she’s upset. She offers to come round later to talk.
- Ruth and David are taking the children bowling for Josh’s birthday, but David has reservations about including Daniel, after hearing about his moodiness on the fishing trip.
- Fallon shows Ed the ropes at the Bull, and is impressed at how much he already knows. She drops a number of hints about her growing feelings for him, but Ed fails to pick up on them.
- Emma pours out her feelings about Will’s new romance. It’s hurt her, just when she felt that she and Will were friends again. She can’t bear the thought of Nic featuring in George’s life. Kirsty tries to cheer her up by saying that when Emma meets someone else, he will have a share in George’s life too. Some chance, says Emma. I never meet anyone.
