Borsetshire Businessman of the Year interviewed by Environment Agency under caution; local farmer considers marketing new health food; read all about it!

Radio Times: Brian is in trouble and Susan has a brainwave

Characters: , , , , , , ,
  • Jennifer has news from Susan regarding the Am’s difficulties. The Environment Agency has banned fishing and swimming. Brian says that they’re testing drain water and runoff from Home Farm. Noluthando won’t be drawn into any form of conversation. She can’t wait to go back to South Africa. Even her grandmother’s enquiry about her birthday cake draws little response.
  • Susan is spreading gossip about the work of the work at the Am and how the
  • EA workforce has been in the shop buying chocolate.
  • Freddie’s horrified that Noluthando is threatening to cancel her party. Apparently, she can’t bear to think of her mother “getting down” with the kids. He has a bright idea. As he’s passed his maths GCSE resit, why doesn’t he call in a favour from his mother and have a party at their place? At Bridge Farm, Susan corners Tom while he tries unsuccessfully to milk a goat. She continues to pester him about kefir and its marketing and won’t listen when he says that he’s finished with it. She invites him for a cuppa to discuss things. Full marks for effort Susan!
  • Roy has persuaded Ian to have a drink and takes the opportunity to clear the air. Ian tells him how grateful Adam and he were for Lexi’s surrogacy offer. Roy explains how he and Lexi want to make a go of things. Lexi carrying Ian’s child would not have helped. He’s sure that Ian will make a great dad… one day.
  • Freddie and Noluthando break the news to Jennifer that Elizabeth has agreed to host the party at Lower Loxley. Though disappointed that she won’t be called upon to bake a cake, Jenny accepts the situation with good grace. The youngsters go upstairs to plan playlists as a worried Brian comes in. The Environment Agency has interviewed him, under caution. They are certain that the contamination in the Am may be traced to Home Farm. If so, he may well be prosecuted
