Radio Times: Brenda has had enough and there is a last farewell at Bridge Farm.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • Tony seems quite sad as the last remaining cow is loaded into the trailer to go to market though his mood is not shared by Tom, who regards the event as a step towards the new Bridge Farm.
  • A very hung-over Lilian appears in the office to Brenda’s surprise, but when Brenda asks when Matt is likely to be back, Lilian rushes out of the room on the verge of tears. Brian calls in with Lilian’s lighter, left at Home Farm the previous evening, and comments on how much she had to drink. He is sympathetic when Brenda tells him how difficult it is to run the office like this. She feels she can take no more.
  • Kenton finds Jolene sorting out tops for the swishing event, and has several suggestive remarks to make. They reminisce about the early days of their relationship, and agree that they are so glad they have one another.
  • Brian tells Tom he has invited several people for a pigeon shoot, and asks if Tony would like to come. Tom thinks he would, but is himself far too busy with his ready meals. Brian congratulates him, but warns him about supermarkets. Wryly Tom says he will; he has not forgotten his previous encounters with them.
  • Tony is delighted with the price he got for the cow, and asks Tom to join them when Rob comes to supper. Tom is, of course, far too busy.
  • When Lilian reappears, still not having paid the bills, Brenda finally loses her temper. Lilian retorts that she and Matt taught Brenda all she knows and she should be grateful. That is the final straw for Brenda, who tells Lilian to stuff her job.
