  • As Ruth and David are off to France, Pip delivers Ben’s stuff to Jill, as he will be staying there, leaving Pip and Josh to run Brookfield. David texts to remind Pip about a water-trough and other matters, which only serves to boost Pip’s already considerable self-satisfaction.
  • Roy and Hayley enjoy breakfast together as they both have the day off. Hayley is concerned about Brenda, who has failed to surface, but soon she appears, announcing that she is never going back to Amside, could not care less about giving due notice and has no intention of speaking to Lilian.
  • Lilian tries to ring Brenda, but she is not answering her phone. Meanwhile all the office phones start to ring at once, leaving Lilian in a state. Since Brenda refuses to answer, Lilian calls at Willow Farm, but Brenda has left for some retail therapy. Lilian orders Roy and Hayley to tell Brenda the situation is ridiculous and they must talk; Lilian is having to do the work of three people. She expects Brenda in the office tomorrow.
  • Jill picks Ben up from the school bus, and they call at Brookfield to pick up a game for his console. Pip tells Jill that the agency rang to offer her some work at Edgely, but as it is for this week she had to say no. Jill commiserates, and they laugh as they realise that Ben has eaten all the flapjacks Jill made for Josh and Pip.
