Brenda tells Vicky her troubles. Tom tells Pat his troubles. Nic tells Emma her news.

Radio Times: Vicky finds herself enjoying motherhood, and Brenda makes a decision.

Characters: , , , , , ,
  • When Brenda calls to see Vicky and Bethany, Vicky comments that she looks tired. Brenda bursts into tears and tells Vicky that she and Tom have split up. Vicky tries to offer comfort, but has no practical help to offer. Willow Farm is just too small.
  • Just as Brenda is pouring her heart out to Vicky, Pat calls to see Tom, and wastes no time in delivering a tirade about his lack of interest in selling the cows. Tom, too breaks down, and tells his shocked mother what has happened
  • A rather happier Ambridge resident, Nic, calls to tell Emma the news of her pregnancy, but meets with a very sullen, and downright rude response. Nic tries to point out that it is important George should be told, but all she gets in return is a request that Emma should know when Nic intends to do this, as Emma will have to pick up the pieces. Emma’s final piece of sarcasm is to comment that they will all be one big happy family; no wonder Clarrie is so thrilled.
  • When Mike returns from darts practice, he hears the news about Brenda and Tom, and wonders how they can help. There is no room with them now that they have Bethany, but then Mike has a flash of inspiration; Hayley and Roy can put her up.
