  • Ruth and Lilian are surprised to find Helen working in Ambridge Organics but she has come in to talk to Kirsty about the new marketing strategy. Ruth is buying treats for a champagne lunch to celebrate Pip’s exam results – ice cream for a start; she and David are so proud of her.
  • Pip had a good time last night but is up early. She has put two and two together about Clarrie no longer working at Bridge Farm but David tells her it is best not to spread rumours. Adam has been singing Pip’s praises about marketing ideas. Right now Pip is ringing Helen to offer her some ideas for their new marketing campaign, specifically a website designed for mobiles – they are after all taking over the world – and the use of social networking sites.
  • The BL Board meets today to discuss the crisis. Brian sets out the full extent of the delay and the reasons for it. The whole thing has been very costly, including paying construction workers to do nothing – no they can’t be laid off because they might then go to other work and not be available when the green light appears. Brian’s pains are rewarded by an accusation that he and Cliff Alladay have mishandled the matter and if they had done their homework would have know about the Foot & Mouth burial site. Ridiculous. It’s only a problem anyway because of the gamble they took, against Brian’s advice, on a quick completion. They may pay very dearly for that.
