Radio Times: Time is running out for Kenton.

  • It’s an early start for Adam and Brian. They’re starting to put the polythene on the tunnels. Kate’s up early too, less happily, Sipho’s awake. Brian asks if she’ll be phoning home today. There’s a non-committal answer and she takes her leave.
  • Later, Brian asks Adam if she’s mentioned Lucas much, only she’s hardly rung home and when she does just puts Sipho on the line. She seems unsettled. Adam is sure it’s just realising that she’s missed Phoebe’s growing up and she’ll never get that back.
  • Jolene’s not keen on a month stuck on an island with a hormonal, 38-year old Lucy, even if it is New Zealand. She’s not a Lord of the Rings geek and would much prefer Nashville. However, she and Sid have decided they’d like Fallon to be manager during their absence. Fallon’s surprised, but would love to give it a go.
  • Kenton helps Oliver erect a barometer outside the village shop. £1,300 raised so far, £8,700 to go. Kenton hears from Fallon that her ex-manager, Spence, can’t be the third judge but suggests Jolene. Initially taken aback he sees the benefits and tries to flatter Jolene into agreeing, but she sees him coming and guesses Spence turned him down. She does too, but suggests Wayne. Decades in the business and knows talent when he sees it.
  • Jolene’s annoyed that the graffiti still shows through the paint a bit; not a good impression for outsiders arriving for the pub’s Easter events. She thinks the culprits should be named and shamed once she’s swung for them.
