  • Rob has been out riding and enjoying the fresh country air. Helen apologises once again for having caused Rob to feel undermined in front of her mother. He is in a forgiving mood – after all everyone makes mistakes. However, he objects to Helen having made arrangements for Susan and Emma to take Henry to the village bonfire without discussing it with him first. He objects on the grounds of them being untrustworthy to look out for Henry’s safety and that they will fill him full of junk food.
  • Charlie phones Adam to express his gratitude for expertly handling yesterday’s meeting. Adam was happy to help out a friend and it hasn’t done Home Farm’s reputation any harm, being seen by the wider public to support a neighbouring farm. Charlie offers to take Adam for a drink and as Ian is working tonight, they agree to meet at the fireworks and have a drink afterwards. Charlie confides in Adam, the financial damage of the outbreak – in excess of £150K. He hasn’t yet broken the news to Justin Elliott.
  • With the firework display and bonfire in full swing, Eddie doesn’t miss the opportunity to tout his turkeys. He is ticked off by Susan who thinks he’s inappropriately exploiting the occasion. With Lynda also commandeering Susan’s attention about her petition to close Berrow Farm, she soon takes her eye off Henry and George. Conversation progresses to Calendar Girls, and Lynda’s idea for a calendar with Robert taking the photographs. Eddie’s interest is aroused, wondering if Robert may need an assistant, when they hear Henry scream, having picked up a hot sparkler.
  • Helen and Rob arrive at A & E to find a contrite Susan but a proud bandage-wielding Henry. The damage to his hand is not severe, but this does not prevent Rob launching into an attack on Helen, over how he warned against this and that she ought to listen to him and relinquish control now that her priorities are different. She ought to be concentrating on the pregnancy. Helen berates herself and tells Rob he’s right.
