Christopher attempts to drown his sorrows. Tom attempts to make Pat see his point of view.

Radio Times: Chris overindulges, and Jazzer takes a tumble.

Characters: , , , ,
  • Tom attempts to restore family harmony by putting in extra hours on the veg boxes, but meets with a very frosty Pat. Matters are not improved when Tom suggests they might look at adding more interesting items to the boxes; Pat insists that the customers want locally grown, seasonal vegetables like cabbage and kale.
  • The tractor restoration is well under way, though Ed has doubts about the quality of the materials Jazzer has sourced from a dubious contact. Ed is soon proved right.
  • Tom calls at The Bull for a pie and is shocked to see a very drunk Christopher there. Tom tries to persuade him to have something to eat, and to slow down on the pints, but Chris refuses to listen, especially when Tom attempts to get him to see things from Alice’s perspective. Managing to forget yesterday’s skirmish with Brenda, Tom maintains that they are ‘solid’. Presumably this will make Chris feel much better. Jazzer and Ed then appear, and while Ed goes to fetch Keira from Bridge Farm, Jazzer helps Tom get Chris home.
  • Just as Pat is settling down to an evening’s TV and a glass of wine, Tom appears, ostensibly with a DVD for Helen. Pat maintains her high-handed stance and tells Tom she simply will not discuss the veg boxes.
