Characters: Alice, Christopher, Debbie, Jennifer, Kenton, Lilian

• Christopher winds Kenton up by telling him that he and Alice are engaged; he’s surprised Kenton hasn’t heard. But he’s got a surprise for Alice – he’s going to have a tattoo of Alice from Alice through the Looking Glass on his arm. Kenton is very impressed and decides to come along.
• Debbie arrives at Home Farm, but Alice hasn’t got time to stay and catch up; she’s off to meet Christopher in town. Debbie thinks it’s sweet, but her mother is less enthralled. Jennifer admits she’s worried about Lilian, so Debbie offers to call round. Jennifer gives her a fish pie to take.
• Christopher has his arm tattooed by the glamorous Opal, and is delighted with it. Kenton says he often thought of having one when he was in the Merchant Navy, but never got round to it. He has a look at some patterns; maybe it would impress Kathy.
• At first Lilian is unwilling to discuss her situation with Debbie, and is positively rude about Jennifer’s offering. But Debbie perseveres, and soon Lilian breaks down. She’s desperately worried for Matt, wondering how he’ll cope with prison, and worried about how she’ll manage without him.
• Alice is ecstatic when she sees Christopher’s tattoo. She doesn’t think she’ll be able to keep her hands off him now!
