Clarrie watches her family disintegrate.
Radio Times: Clarrie shows some restraint.
Characters: Brian, Clarrie, Eddie, Oliver, Roy, Tom, William- As Oliver explains to Clarrie, he has had a tough couple of days with Ed; he has allowed Ed to drink, otherwise he would have left. His mood swings from being manically energetic to deeply depressed. For the time being it would probably be best if Clarrie stayed away. When Clarrie explains the situation to Eddie, he has a fence to paint – and when she appeals to William, he must take George to the cricket.
- At the cricket, Roy persuades Tom that he really should tell Brian about the van being trashed; it did happen on his land. But first Tom has to bat.
- Clarrie tries again. She cannot carry on like this. Would Eddie please visit Ed, for her sake. But Eddie just gets angry that she seems to be blaming him; he is not the one who tore the family apart.
- Ambridge score a resounding victory and maybe Kev is weakening and will consider playing for them – especially as Fallon is hovering round “collecting glasses”. Roy asks William how things are. Ed is trouble: Mum and Dad are at loggerheads over him and Will and Grandad are in the middle.
- Tom explains to Brian about the van and Brian agrees that involving the police would not do any good – but neither would Tom taking the law into his own hands; do nothing until Brian has thought it through.
- Eddie is still angry. If he were to go to see Ed, what would William think? William assures him that he doesn’t mind; they can do as they wish. As for William going to see Ed, forget it: he cannot forgive him and he stopped having a brother a long time ago.
