Characters: , , , ,
  • Vicky is at maximum volume and minimum sensitivity as she chats with Fallon about Harry’s rekindled romance. She tells Fallon that Mike is worried about finding a replacement milkman; Fallon points out that Jazzer needs to find a flatmate.
  • Darrell is treated to home-made cake and tea at the Walters. He is very uneasy about carrying out Matt’s orders, and this intensifies when Matt calls to remind him that his role is to get the Walters out.
  • Vicky receives a call from her midwife, telling her that there is a higher than usual probability that her baby will have Downs Syndrome. Vicky needs to have more tests. Luckily Lynda is on hand to offer comfort, and whisks Vicky back to Ambridge Hall.
  • The Walters prattle on in blissful ignorance of their landlord’s intentions. Darrell feels more and more uneasy as he tries to make them see that the whole house needs work. He does as Matt told him, and suggests that they would be better off in a modern flat, but Arthur and Joyce are having none of it.
  • Vicky is in shock, and is worried about the further risk of having an amniocentesis. Lynda gently says she must share this with Mike, and while Vicky knows this is true, she is anxious about it. Mike has been on such a high and has given no thought to possible problems.
