  • Why is David here? That’s the question on everybody’s lips at Lower Loxley this morning. Roy is starting today and will soon be on top of things so, eventually convinced that he is superfluous, David gets back to farm work.
  • Meanwhile Kenton heads for The Bull and, after briefly helping Jolene with some gardening, faces some questions from Fallon arising out of what Jamie said last evening. He assures her that he was not two-timing Kathy when he had a fling with Holly – which he much regrets anyway. Fallon’s concern of course is that she doesn’t want her mum hurt but Kenton tries to assure her that he would not do that. Their relationship has grown gradually, both supporting the other through difficult times. Sadly Jamie is a casualty. Kenton might need Fallon’s help to get through to him, though he doesn’t seem ready yet to forgive.
  • At Brookfield, Alistair has confirmed Johne’s disease and will now have to do blood tests to establish which cows are infected. Ruth berates David for a totally unnecessary trip to Lower Loxley this morning. There is a fence that needs repair and he should not put it off; especially he should not put it off to ring Elizabeth: she has plenty of help and doesn’t need him – but Ruth does need him. Time to move on.
