Does Joe know more than he is prepared to say?
Radio Times: Joe turns detective and Toby hatches a plan
Characters: Fallon, Harrison, Jim, Joe, Josh, Toby- Fallon and Harrison contemplate their home. Harrison is keen to buy a huge wall-mounted TV, but senses that Fallon’s heart is not in it. She looks at a chair which Nic persuaded her to keep, and is overcome with thoughts of her friend. Harrison suggests going out; they are going to dinner with Chris and Alice tomorrow which will be fun. And so they go to buy a self-assembly chest of drawers. As Fallon says, assembly is much easier if you read the instructions first.
- Josh makes fun of Toby’s possible pig venture; another thing Toby has tried and failed at is his take on it. Toby puts him right; it will be Rex’s project if David will let them use Hollowtree, and would help Tom. That way Toby can keep his gin business there too. But would Josh put the idea to David, perhaps? To Toby’s surprise, Josh does indeed ask and the answer is yes. After all, David sees Rex as reliable.
- When Jazzer hears that the pigs will be moving to Hollowtree, he is full of cynicism. What’s in it for Josh? But Jazzer has his own concerns. Jim is buying a piano so needs help in re-arranging the sitting room. That will intrude on Jazzer’s man-space and interfere with his screen-watching. But he and Josh end up being recruited as removal men – until Josh has a brainwave. What Jim needs is a keyboard, not a piano, and as it happens, Josh knows of one at a good price..
- Joe arrives late for a drink with Jim, and Jim tackles Joe’s state of mind. he thinks he should go and speak to Will. After all, they share the same grief. Will needs to hear that Nic was a good person and to talk about her, angry or not.
- Joe doesn’t go to find Will. Instead he calls on Harrison, and asks whether there is any update on the hit and run accident. Harrison explains that the case will stay open until it is solved. Joe makes it clear that the guilty party must have been an outsider. Harrison agrees; they wouldn’t want it to be someone they knew, would they?
