Ed learns of the hunt for the hoard of silver pennies on Oliver’s land.

Characters: Ed, Eddie, Jill, Joe, Lynda, Ruth

• Joe suggests to Ruth that he sets up his cider press for a “demonstration” at Brookfield’s farm open day. Ruth sees it coming a mile off and says she’ll have to check with David.
• Jill heads to Brookfield when she hears a bee swarm has arrived, with Ruth’s help she collects them in a skep and gets them into an empty hive.
• Lynda thinks they may need something more visual than bread-making for the plinth. All this talk of bees makes her think Jill in her bee get-up, sans live bees, would be just the thing.
• Ed stops in to see his dad’s work on Pat and Tony’s wetlands. His suspicions are raised when Eddie asks about Oliver going away. Later, he fools Joe into telling all about the hoard of silver pennies and tries to tell Eddie it’s not on, but Eddie tells him he must forget all he’s heard for the good of the family.
