  • For the second time this week, Ed turns up at Grange Farm to help with the herd. Oliver is genuinely pleased, especially when he sees that Ed is using his natural skills as a herdsman. He gives Ed £20 as a thankyou, and then persuades Caroline to take some of the surplus cream at Grey Gables.
  • Adam is full of resentment at Debbie’s high-handed treatment of him and the farm, but, as usual, all Brian can do is sing her praises, and to add insult to injury, tell Adam that he’ll just have to work longer hours to get the work done. When an expensive new sports car arrives for Debbie, Adam almost erupts with anger.
  • Ed arranges to meet Jazzer for a drink to celebrate his pay from Oliver, but the session gets out of hand, and Jolene refuses to serve them. Ed has an outburst and a bar stool gets broken. Jazzer rings his brother to come and take Ed home. The remorseful Ed says he’s a loser; he’s wasted good money on drink and he never has fun any more.
  • When Adam tackles Debbie about her proposals to increase the workload at the farm, she airily tells him that if he’s not capable of doing the work, she’ll find someone else. She knows several Hungarians who’d be willing…
